Description
Produced by Modern Toys (Masudaya) of Japan, this vintage wind-up mechanical toy is a walking bear. It is constructed with a brown plush fabric covering over a tin internal frame and clockwork mechanism. The toy features an integrated metal side-winding key. No original box is present. This item dates to the mid-20th century, approximately the 1950s.
Condition report:
The plush surface shows heavy matting and thinning, with a large tear on the underside exposing the internal wire mesh. The felt paw pads are worn, though the original foil manufacturer\'s sticker is present. The clockwork mechanism is untested. The toy is structurally complete but lacks its original packaging.
