A Mixed Collection of Decorative Ceramics including The Falconer Plates and a Carved Wooden Architectural Model
Description
A diverse collection of glazed ceramic tableware and decorative objects. The group includes two large earthenware plates featuring polychrome transfer-printed illustrations titled The Falconer, depicting a figure in green Renaissance-style costume. Also included is a large white earthenware bowl decorated with botanical illustrations of honeysuckle (Lonicera Periclymenum), a large shallow serving bowl with a pale yellow glaze and hand-painted geometric diamond motifs in green and orange, and a white plate with a central floral bouquet and reeded rim. The lot further comprises a small porcelain teapot and two matching cups decorated with delicate floral sprays, a small floral ceramic ornament, and a carved wooden architectural-style box with a weathered brown finish. Largest bowl approximately 32cm diameter.
Condition report:
The large yellow bowl exhibits significant brownish staining and residue to the centre with possible glaze degradation. The wooden architectural model shows a weathered surface and minor losses to the finish. Other ceramic items appear in fair to good condition with minor surface wear, light scratches, and accumulated dust consistent with age.
