ALFA Portable Electric Sewing Machine in Original Pink Carrying Case, Mid-20th Century
Description
This mid-century portable electric sewing machine was manufactured by the Spanish firm ALFA. The unit features a robust metal body finished in a cream-coloured enamel, mounted upon a light-toned wooden base. The brand name ALFA is prominently displayed on the horizontal arm. It is equipped with an external electric motor and includes the associated power cord. The machine is housed in its original hard-sided carrying case, which is finished in a textured pink-toned material. The case is constructed with metal-reinforced corners, latching hardware, and a leather-style handle, with an interior lining of checkered pattern paper. Such machines were popular in the post-war era for their reliability and compact design. Dimensions not recorded.
Condition report:
The machine and case are in fair to good vintage condition. The exterior of the carrying case shows visible surface wear, scuffing, and age-related discolouration. The sewing machine itself exhibits minor cosmetic wear to the enamel finish. The electrical and mechanical functionality has not been tested, and the item is sold as a decorative or restoration piece. It appears largely complete with original motor and cord, though internal components have not been inspected.
