Keele St. Pottery and Others, Collection of Vintage Toby Jugs, Anthropomorphic Shakers and Rabbit Planters
Description
A collection of eight vintage glazed ceramic and porcelain character items. The lot comprises four character mugs including a Keele St. Pottery Co. Ltd. Staffordshire example of a woman in a floral hat, a large figural mug of a woman in a yellow bonnet, a traditional Toby jug of a man in a black hat, and a small anthropomorphic mug marked C5 Voody Humry. The collection further includes a pair of figural salt and pepper shakers featuring a boy in a top hat and a girl in a polka dot bonnet, both retaining original cork stoppers, and two Easter-themed planters stamped Made in Japan depicting rabbits with egg-shaped wheelbarrows. Marks include factory backstamps, country of origin stamps, and handwritten inventory codes. Height approximately 15 cm.
Condition report:
The large man Toby jug exhibits significant chipping and a rough texture to the base rim. One rabbit planter has minor interior staining from use. The pieces show general signs of age including fine glaze crazing and minor surface wear. No visible restorations or major cracks to the other items.
