Lot 404: Giuseppe Armani Capodimonte Sculpture The Cheats Four Boys Playing Cards

A decorative sculpture group attributed to Giuseppe Armani, titled “The Cheats” or “The Cheat,” depicting a sentimental scene of four young boys playing cards around a rustic, textured table. The piece is executed in a realistic style, constructed from painted composite material or ceramic, consistent with Capodimonte production. The figures are dressed in rustic period clothing, featuring checkered shirts, caps, and patched trousers. The complex scene rests upon a molded, scenic base that is permanently affixed to a dark, polished wooden plinth. The style is characteristic of 20th-century European decorative ceramics.
