Lot 238:
A Two-Piece Lot of Furniture, Including a Baroque Style Stool and a Two-Tiered Occasional Table
Description
This lot comprises two distinct pieces of furniture: an upholstered stool and a two-tiered occasional table. The stool is constructed with a dark-toned wooden frame featuring four heavily turned legs connected by scrolled stretcher supports, suggesting a Baroque or Louis XIII/XIV style influence. The rectangular seat is upholstered in an olive/moss green plush fabric, secured by continuous metal tack trim. A white inventory label reading “G182” is affixed to the wooden frame of the stool. The accompanying occasional table is a two-tiered structure made of medium-toned hardwood with a lustrous finish. Both tiers feature serpentine or scalloped edges and are supported by slender, curving legs, indicative of a later style such as Louis XV or Queen Anne Revival.
