Lot 16: A Dark-Stained Oak Welsh Dresser in the English Country Style

A large, two-part piece of furniture identified as a Welsh Dresser or hutch, constructed from dark-stained wood, exhibiting a traditional, rustic style influenced by Jacobean or English Country design. The upper section features a shallow, open shelving unit designed for display, complete with a molded cornice and a scalloped decorative frieze positioned above two fixed shelves. The lower base cabinet incorporates three drawers situated directly above three recessed panel doors. The doors feature a grid-like paneling typical of revival furniture. All drawers and doors are uniformly fitted with small, turned wooden knobs. The piece is finished with a glossy stain, highlighting the visible wood grain, likely oak.
