Lot 185: A Louis XVI Style Upholstered Armchair

A Louis XVI Style Upholstered Armchair, featuring a dark-stained carved hardwood frame. The frame exhibits fluted detailing on the top rail of the backrest and turned elements on the arm supports and legs. The seat, back, and armrests are upholstered in a blue jacquard or tapestry textile, adorned with a repeating symmetrical floral and foliate pattern in shades of orange, gold, and green, suggestive of a late 19th or early 20th-century aesthetic. A white adhesive sticker on the rear of the chair’s backrest displays the text “6/10,” “3485,” and “PS 30”; faint handwriting on the wood frame above the sticker also shows “72.”
