Lot 202: A Set of Six Paramount Pottery Co Ltd 'Fox & Hounds' Hunting Scene Tableware

A set of six glazed ceramic tableware pieces by Paramount Pottery Co Ltd, depicting a ‘Fox & Hounds’ hunting scene, likely dating to the 1940s. This six-piece set comprises a lidded teapot, two pitchers, one open bowl, and two mugs. Each item features a figural fox-head spout or handle, and applied polychrome decoration depicting a traditional fox hunt scene with riders on horseback in red coats, fences, and running foxes against a naturalistic landscape background. The handles of several pieces are molded to resemble branches or whips, while the teapot lid finial is a black, possibly jockey-cap, form. The style is traditional, focusing on sporting themes. No manufacturer’s marks or text are visible on any of the pieces.
