A Collection of Glazed Ceramic Animal Figurines and a Central Noahs Ark Boat
Description
An extensive collection of miniature glazed ceramic animal figurines accompanied by a central ceramic boat modelled as Noahs Ark. The collection features a wide variety of animals including a giraffe, horse, polar bear, lion, hippopotamus, duck, owl, cat, dog, rabbit, and several primates. Each figure is finished in characteristic semi-translucent glazes, predominantly in shades of brown, green, blue, and cream. The Noahs Ark vessel is rendered in a dark tan and brown glaze with molded plank detailing to the hull and internal seating. While the bases are not visible, the scale, form, and glaze techniques are consistent with the Wade Whimsies line produced by Wade Ceramics in England. One figurine appears to be a grey-glazed elephant (centre-right), and others include a green-glazed frog and a blue-glazed penguin. The figures are constructed from molded pottery with high-gloss finishes. A white rectangular label is affixed to the boat but the text is obscured and not legible as a maker name.
