Description
A collection of several vintage stock certificates, primarily issued by the American Bank Note Company for common and preferred stock, alongside a single certificate from the Monster Chief Mining Company. The documents date from the early to late 1940s, with visible dates including September 1941, February 1942, May 1943, May 1944, May 1946, and September 1948. The certificates are printed on paper featuring intricate security guilloche borders in orange, grey, and green. Most American Bank Note Company certificates display a prominent central engraved vignette of a bald eagle with outstretched wings perched upon a rocky outcrop. The Monster Chief Mining Company certificate features a smaller eagle motif in green at the top centre. The documents include various printed share denominations, such as One Hundred and Fifteen, and carry unique serial numbers including F39905, G111081, and F48921. Multiple hand-signed signatures are present, with several certificates bearing the imprints or signatures of notable financial firms including Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Beane, J & W Seligman & Co., and Harriman & Co. The certificates appear to be issued documents, some of which feature circular stamps regarding share quantities.
