Lot 101:
Mid-Century Modern Teak Sideboard with Central Glass Display
Description
A mid-century modern teak sideboard of British design, dating from circa 1960. The unit is constructed with teak veneers and solid teak components. The central section is fitted with two sliding glass doors, revealing a display interior with two glass shelves. To the left side are two cupboard doors, one positioned above the other, each finished with a small circular metal pull. The right-hand side comprises a drop-down cupboard at the top, typically used as a cocktail cabinet, positioned above a bank of two drawers. These drawers are detailed with recessed oval ‘smile’ wooden handles. The sideboard is supported by four square-profile tapered legs. The design is in the style of prominent mid-20th-century manufacturers such as Jentique or Stonehill.
