Vintage Roberts R707 Transistor Radio
Description
A vintage portable transistor radio manufactured by Roberts Radio Co. Ltd., England, identified as model R707. The cabinet is finished in red leathercloth (rexine) with vertical teak-veneered wooden end panels. It features a silver-toned vertical slat grille and a matching red swivel carrying handle. The top-mounted control panel includes a tuning dial, volume control, and five push-buttons for waveband selection (typically FM, SW, MW, LW, and battery check). The front of the radio displays a rectangular black and silver badge featuring a stylized capital R above the manufacturer name ROBERTS. A white adhesive tag with the handwritten number 9751 is attached to the top panel.
