Lot 391:
An Assortment of Late 19th and Early 20th Century Silver-Plated Tablewares and Flatware
Description
An assortment of silver-plated tablewares and flatware, consistent with British manufacturing from the late Victorian and Edwardian periods. The collection includes a spirit kettle on a four-footed stand with a spirit burner, featuring a scrolled handle and chased foliate and floral decoration. A large rectangular galleried tray with twin handles and an engraved centre holds two lidded oval entree dishes with detachable handles. Also included is a rectangular biscuit barrel or sugar box with a swing handle and chased motifs, a circular lidded dish on a scalloped-edge underplate, and an ornate vessel with a pierced lattice design and scrolled feet. The flatware consists of two pairs of sugar tongs and three spoons. While marks are visible on some pieces, they are not clearly legible in the provided images; based on construction and style, the items are identified as silver-plated (EPNS or EPBM).
Large galleried tray: approximately 18–20 inches in length.
