A Walter Moorcroft Anemone Pattern Vase on a Pale Yellow Ground
Description
A Moorcroft earthenware vase of bulbous form tapering to a flared neck, featuring the Anemone pattern. The floral decoration is executed using the tubelining technique, with hand-painted blooms in tones of crimson red and cobalt blue accented by green leaves. These motifs are set against a pale yellow or cream-coloured ground. The base displays the underglaze blue stamp MOORCROFT and MADE IN ENGLAND, alongside a hand-painted blue initial mark consisting of the initials WM with a horizontal bar across the centre, attributed to Walter Moorcroft.
