A Collection of Seven Ceramic and Porcelain Animal and Human Figurines
Description
This collection of seven figurines comprises a variety of canine, human, and avian subjects in glazed ceramic and porcelain. Included is a large, textured figurine of a white terrier, possibly a West Highland White Terrier, seated upon a mahogany-coloured moulded oval plinth with a gold-toned label to the front. The lot also features a large white-glazed double-bust figurine depicting two Old English Sheepdogs, which carries a handwritten mark 1/7- to the crown of one head. Other canine figures include a seated German Shepherd style dog with tan and black markings and a smaller black and white terrier. The human subjects consist of a pair of figures portraying an elderly man in a green jacket and hat, and an elderly woman in a pink shawl and blue skirt carrying a basket. A vibrant, multi-coloured glazed figurine of a rooster standing on a green base completes the group. The items are primarily constructed from glazed ceramic and porcelain, with the Westie figure exhibiting a more matte, textured finish.
