Lot 382:
A Collection of Treasures of the Earth Mineral and Gemstone Specimens
Description
This lot consists of a collection of mineral and gemstone specimens attributed to the Treasures of the Earth part-work magazine series. The collection is presented in ten individual display cases and includes a diverse array of geological samples. The specimens are shown in various forms, including raw crystalline structures, tumbled stones, and polished cabochon-style pieces. A wide range of minerals is represented, featuring colours such as green, red, blue, and earthy brown, alongside clear crystalline specimens. These likely include varieties of quartz, garnet, agate, and other semi-precious stones. The specimens are organised within shallow, rectangular display cases with clear lids. The mounting styles vary between the cases: several feature circular specimen cells on white or cream backgrounds, others contain specimens in hexagonal cells against red velvet-effect backgrounds, and some utilize square or rectangular grid layouts. Some cases feature individual clear plastic specimen boxes nestled within the main tray. Many of the individual specimen cells contain small white paper labels with handwritten or printed notations identifying the contents.
