Lot 239:
A Service Dress Tunic and Tie Attributed to the Royal Ulster Constabulary
Description
This uniform lot comprises a service dress tunic and a necktie, attributed to the Royal Ulster Constabulary or a related Northern Irish security service. The tunic is tailored from a dark wool fabric, appearing either black or a dark bottle green, in a standard four-pocket service dress pattern. The design includes two pleated breast pockets with scalloped flaps and two large bellows pockets below the waist. The garment is secured with four brass-toned front buttons, with matching smaller buttons to the pocket flaps and cuffs; the buttons appear to be embossed with a crown over a harp device. The lot includes a green necktie featuring a repeating gold-toned harp motif. Above the left breast pocket is a three-ribbon bar, which includes the ribbons for the United Nations Medal and the General Service Medal (1962). The items are suspended on a wooden hanger with a handwritten inventory tag numbered 1524.
