Lot 238:
A Child's Highland Dress Set Comprising a Gordon Highlanders Tartan Kilt and a Royal Navy Pattern Sporran
Description
This lot comprises a small-scale Scottish Highland dress set, likely intended for a child or youth. The kilt is constructed from wool in the Gordon Highlanders tartan, featuring the characteristic blue and green base with yellow overstripes. It follows a traditional wrap-around design with a flat front apron and a pleated rear section. A silver-tone metal safety-pin style kilt pin is affixed to the lower edge of the apron. The accompanying formal hair sporran consists of black hair with two contrasting white hair tassels. The black leather cantle is mounted with a white-metal badge featuring a crowned fouled anchor, which is the standard insignia of the Royal Navy. The sporran is suspended by a cream-coloured leather strap with integrated metal chain sections. The set is presented on a black plastic hanger.
