WWII German General Assault Badge (Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen), Unmarked
Description
A German Second World War General Assault Badge (Allgemeines Sturmabzeichen). This example is of solid-back construction and is struck in zinc (Kriegsmetall). The design features a central Wehrmacht-style eagle with downturned wings, clutching a swastika, superimposed over a crossed stick grenade and bayonet, all within an oval wreath of oak leaves. The reverse is plain with a vertical brass-coloured pin, a soldered hinge, and a simple C catch. There are no maker marks visible on the metal. A small white paper inventory sticker with the handwritten number 32 is present on the reverse.
