A contemporary Ridgway oak floor-standing longcase clock
Description
A contemporary floor-standing longcase clock by the maker Ridgway. The case is constructed from oak with a medium-toned finish, featuring a hood with a swan-neck pediment and turned pilasters flanking the dial. The trunk contains a full-length glazed door, housing three brass-cased weights and a circular brass pendulum. The clock is supported by a panelled plinth base. The ornate brass dial features decorative scrollwork spandrels and a silvered chapter ring with black Roman numerals and an inner ring of Arabic minute markers. The arch of the dial contains a functional moon phase complication with a lunar calendar. The centre of the dial is signed Ridgway. The clock is powered by a mechanical weight-driven triple-train movement.
