Description
An ornate Victorian-pedestal washstand featuring a decorative cast iron frame and a ceramic basin. The upper section comprises a shaped mirror set within an elaborate frame decorated with scrolled foliate and shell motifs, positioned above a small integrated shelf. The backsplash features a central rectangular panel with an applied circular decal depicting a cartoon figure and the slogan BE HAPPY WITH HEALTHY TEETH. The yellow-toned ceramic basin is inset into a decorative cast iron surround with a scrolled apron. The unit is supported by cabriole-style legs with intricate openwork scroll designs. The basin is fitted with brass-toned hardware, including a central spout and two cross-handle taps. The basin surface bears the printed manufacturer mark Armitage Shanks.
