Large Meiji Period Japanese Imari Porcelain Landscape and Floral Charger
Description
A large Japanese porcelain charger decorated in the traditional Imari palette of underglaze cobalt blue, overglaze iron-red enamel, and gilded highlights. The central circular medallion contains floral and foliate motifs, from which six panels radiate outwards. Three of these panels depict mountain landscape scenes featuring pagodas and pine trees, alternating with three panels showing stylised floral patterns on a red ground with gold scrolling detail. The item is fitted with a metal wire wall hanger. A small white adhesive label with the handwritten number 501 is present on the front surface.
