A Collection of Decorative Items Including an Abbey Horn Works Horn, Carved African Style Wooden Daggers, and a Bolo Tie
Description
This lot consists of a varied collection of decorative items and ethnographic style wares. The primary item is a polished natural horn of tapered form, featuring a cord for suspension. It bears a circular gold-coloured manufacturer’s label for Abbey Horn Works, Kendal, England, with a central animal head motif. Also included are three pieces hand-carved from a dark, dense wood. These comprise a cylindrical scabbard featuring incised geometric lattice and floral patterns; a dagger with a pointed double-edged metal blade and a handle carved as a stylized human head; and a knife or letter opener with a rounded metal blade and a handle carved as a full stylized human figure. The collection is completed by a bolo tie featuring a braided grey and black cord with a shield-shaped gold-toned slide containing a central bird motif inlay.
