Two Third Reich Awards comprising a 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class and a Bronze Cross of Honour of the German Mother replicas
Description
This lot consists of two German awards from the 1933 to 1945 period. Replicas The first is a 1939 Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse). The obverse displays a central mobile swastika with the date 1939 on the lower arm. The reverse lower arm bears the date 1813, marking the original institution of the award. It is suspended from an original red, white, and black ribbon which retains a small paper inventory sticker numbered 6571. The second item is a Cross of Honour of the German Mother (Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter) in the Bronze class, traditionally awarded for four or five children. The award is constructed from bronze-finished metal with blue and white enamel. The obverse features a central roundel with a black swastika on a white background, encircled by the text DER DEUTSCHEN MUTTER. The reverse is inscribed with the date 16. Dezember 1938 and a facsimile signature of Adolf Hitler. It is attached to a blue and white striped ribbon.
