A Collection of British and Commonwealth Military Insignia, Badges, and Plates
Description
This lot comprises an assortment of British and Commonwealth military insignia, including cap badges, cloth formation signs, shoulder titles, and brass plates, presented in a glazed wooden display frame with a blue felt backing. The collection encompasses items from the Royal Navy, British Army, and Royal Flying Corps (RFC). Included are a 1st S.A.S. shoulder title and winged dagger badge, an RFC pilot wing cloth patch and cap badge, and a Parachute Regiment shoulder title with a Pegasus cloth formation sign. Infantry regiments are represented by a large brass plate for the 72nd (Duke of Albany’s Own Highlanders) Regiment of Foot, a King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry (KOYLI) title, and an ornate badge for The King’s Own Scottish Borderers Volunteer Battalion. Further items include a Gloucestershire Regiment 28 back badge, a GLOSTER shoulder title, and a central large brass helmet plate featuring a crown above a Garter with GR cypher and a lion below. The assembly also contains an elephant badge, a lion badge with a scroll for The King’s Own, and a Royal Navy badge with the name NELSON. The items are manufactured from brass, white metal, and embroidered cloth.
