Description

This diorama features a group of hand-painted white-metal miniature figures representing the French Chasseurs à Cheval of the Imperial Guard during the First Empire period. The figures are depicted in a charging pose, wearing the characteristic elite company uniform comprising a dark green habit-veste with yellow facings on the lapels, cuffs, and turnbacks. Each soldier is equipped with a fur colpack featuring a red plume and green flamme. The group includes one trumpeter and three troopers armed with curved light cavalry sabres. The figures are mounted on horses of various colours, including chestnut, grey, and bay, and are set into a textured terrain base with simulated earth and vegetation effects. The entire assembly is fixed to a tiered rectangular wooden plinth finished in black. A small white sticker with the handwritten digits 9703 is present on the base. No maker marks are visible.
