Description

A collection of hand-painted white metal military miniatures representing various camel-mounted units from the late 19th to early 20th centuries. The assortment includes figures dressed in uniforms consistent with the Ottoman Empire, Egyptian forces, and French colonial Meharistes. The grouping features riders wearing white kaffiyehs with black agals, blue tunics, and red trousers, characteristic of French North African levies. Other figures are depicted in khaki uniforms and red fezzes, representing Ottoman or Egyptian infantry. The set includes a camel-mounted light mountain gun or zamburak with an accompanying gunner in khaki dress and a red fez, alongside a pack camel equipped with a frame for transporting military equipment. One rider is shown in light khaki attire with a white kaffiyeh and a red saddle blanket. Each figure is cast in white metal and finished with hand-painted details on the uniforms, camel tack, and equipment. The figures are mounted on irregular oval bases textured with grit and painted to simulate a desert environment. A small white adhesive inventory label marked 9703 is present on the base of one camel.
