Description

A substantial collection of Royal Albert fine bone china in the celebrated Old Country Roses pattern, designed by Harold Holdcroft and first introduced in 1962. The service features the signature transfer-printed clusters of deep red, pink, and yellow roses set against a crisp white glaze. Each piece is characterised by a scalloped rim embellished with hand-applied stippled 22-carat gold gilding. The assembly includes a globular teapot with a rose-bud finial, a twin-handled lidded vegetable tureen, a large oval serving platter, multiple dinner plates, side plates, teacups and saucers, a cream jug, and a pair of salt and pepper shakers. The lot is further accompanied by two boxed sets of Cloverleaf-brand table mats and coasters featuring a coordinating multi-coloured floral motif. All ceramic pieces bear the standard factory backstamp to the underside: Old Country Roses, ROYAL ALBERT, BONE CHINA, ENGLAND. Dinner plates approximately 26cm diameter, serving platter approximately 33cm length.

Condition report:

The collection is presented in good overall condition, showing only light signs of use consistent with age. The transfer decoration remains vibrant and the stippled gilding is largely intact with minimal evidence of rubbing to the rims. No chips, cracks, or professional repairs were noted during inspection. The Cloverleaf accessories remain in their original boxes.
