Royal Crown Derby Old Imari Pattern 1128 English Bone China Cabinet Plate Dated 1974
Description
A fine Royal Crown Derby English bone china cabinet plate decorated in the celebrated Old Imari pattern, number 1128. The piece features a rich palette of underglaze cobalt blue and overglaze iron red, enhanced by extensive hand-applied gilding. The composition is centred on a floral medallion within a scrolled border, surrounded by wide, alternating panels of stylised botanical blooms and geometric diaper patterns. The reverse bears the red printed Royal Crown Derby manufacturer mark, the pattern number 1128, and the Roman numeral date code XXXVII, signifying a production date of 1974. Various hand-painted artist and gilder marks are also present. This pattern remains one of the most prestigious examples of the English interpretation of Japanese Arita porcelain. Condition report:
The plate is offered in very good condition, free from chips, cracks, or professional restoration. The hand-applied gilding remains bright and well-preserved with negligible surface wear.
