Imperial-Amphora, Austrian Ceramic Figural Group of a Man with Draught Horses
Description
A large Austrian glazed ceramic figural group produced by Imperial-Amphora, depicting a rural scene of a male figure in a wide-brimmed hat and light blue shirt leading two harnessed draught horses towards a trough. The composition is finished in a muted palette of tans, creams, and light blues with a glossy glaze. The underside bears multiple impressed marks, including the circular Imperial-Amphora mark, an oval Austria mark, a crown mark, and a vertical Amphora mark. Impressed model number 8268 and secondary number 60. Height: 26 cm.
Condition report:
This item is sold for restoration. There is a significant area of loss and damage to the rear of the trough structure where the glaze and ceramic body are missing. The piece shows general surface wear and light soiling consistent with age. An auction inventory sticker is present on the base.
