A Decorative Fantasy-Style Dagger and Matching Scabbard
Description
A small decorative dagger and accompanying metal scabbard of contemporary folk art design. The dagger features a heavily textured, cast metal grip in a golden tone, fashioned with a coarse, wrap-like surface. The pommel is inset with a large, faceted amber-coloured stone secured within a four-claw setting. The metal blade is tapered and double-edged. The corresponding scabbard is constructed from a matching golden-toned metal with a textured finish. Affixed to the scabbard are two adhesive labels: one rectangular white label with handwritten black ink characters reading 12850 above the character g, and a printed white auction lot sticker reading SHELBYS AUCTIONEERS LOT 249 above the numerical sequence 01132502626. No maker marks or signatures are visible on the piece.
