A Pair of Large Porcelain Figural Lamps in the Rococo Style by Capodimonte
Description
A pair of porcelain figural lamps modeled in the Rococo style, each featuring a standing barefoot figure positioned against a rustic tree-trunk support adorned with applied porcelain flowers. The first figure depicts a male in pastoral dress, wearing a black waistcoat, orange breeches, and a light blue shirt. The second figure depicts a female counterpart dressed in a yellow skirt and green bodice. Each figure supports a twisted white porcelain column which terminates in a large, frosted glass globe shade with a crimped, ruffled upper rim, decorated with applied polychrome porcelain pink and blue flower buds. The figures stand on ornate, fluted white porcelain bases detailed with gilt-edged scrolling. The bases are fitted with modern electrical cords and UK three-pin plugs. There are no factory marks, model numbers, or decorator signatures visible on the exterior surfaces of the porcelain.
