Description
A collection of hardcover volumes titled The Book of Knowledge: A Pictured Encyclopedia for Readers of all Ages. The series is edited by Harold F. B. Wheeler and published by The Waverley Book Company, Ltd., Farringdon Street, London, E.C.4. The books are bound in blue cloth with gilt-stamped spines and are currently housed in protective brown paper dust wrappers. The wrappers are printed in black ink with the title, editor, and publisher details, including a circular device featuring a portrait bust. The spines of the wrappers identify the volume numbers and alphabetical contents, including Vol. 2 A TO CON, Vol. 3 CON TO FLO, and Vol. 7 PHI TO SIS. The blue cloth spines, visible where the wrappers are damaged, feature gilt-stamped text including the volume number, alphabetical range, and numerical codes such as 99-3838 and 99-438.
