A Collection of Wedgwood Light Blue and Sage Green Jasperware Ceramics including a Mantel Clock and Commemorative Wares
Description
A collection of stoneware ceramics featuring applied white sprigged bas-relief decoration in the neoclassical and commemorative styles. The majority of the pieces are finished in a matte light blue, with one circular dish in matte sage green. The collection includes an arched mantel clock with a gold-tone dial and neoclassical figures, a large mug featuring a relief of a church spire, three flared vases of various sizes, a circular lidded jar, a heart-shaped lidded box, a tall slender-necked bottle, and a rectangular tray. There are eleven small circular dishes or pin trays; six feature floral wreath borders surrounding central motifs including a harp, a coat of arms, a cathedral, and various figures, while two feature fluted rims and neoclassical scenes. The lot is accompanied by three original cardboard boxes: one purple box and one black box both printed with Wedgwood in white lettering, and one white box printed with Wedgwood in red lettering. The collection also includes a small dark brown glazed earthenware jug featuring a gilt label printed GLENGOYNE and a black hexagonal money box printed with gold lettering including the words CARNARVON.
