Two vintage rotary dial telephones comprising a GPO 746 model and an ornate continental-style model
Description
A lot of two vintage rotary dial telephones of contrasting designs. The first is a GPO 746 series desktop telephone, manufactured in topaz yellow plastic (ABS). This classic British model features a clear plastic finger wheel and a central dial card bearing the handwritten inscription 528614 LEEDS. The unit includes an integrated carrying handle and is fitted with a matching cream-coloured line cord.
The second item is a decorative cradle-style rotary telephone in the continental style, often attributed to manufacturers such as Telart. The body is constructed from panels of pale green onyx-effect material, framed with ornate gilt metal mounts and supported by decorative scrolled feet. The rotary dial features a decorative metal finger wheel with a central floral motif. The handset is held by a metal cradle and has a central white handle. A black coiled handset cord is attached to the base. A small inventory sticker numbered 12272 is present on the side of the casing.
