A Collection of British Royal Commemorative Memorabilia and Vintage Ephemera
Description
An assortment of mid-20th-century British royal commemorative items and printed ephemera. The collection features a large, circular lithographed tinplate container produced to mark the Coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth on 12th May 1937. The lid is decorated with vignettes of the royal coach and processions surrounded by ornamental scrollwork, while the sides depict royal residences including Buckingham Palace and various heraldic shields. Also included is a silver-toned card presentation box for a Commemoration Edition of The Holy Bible, featuring a photographic portrait of a young Queen Elizabeth II wearing the George IV State Diadem and the sash of the Order of the Garter, likely dating to her 1953 Coronation. The lot contains several vintage periodicals, including a magazine with a red masthead and French text, alongside souvenir booklets or programmes. Additional items include a small pressed glass trinket dish and a partial view of a white ceramic mug with gilded commemorative decoration.
