Description
This lot consists of a stamp album containing British and foreign stamps. The collection primarily features postal issues from the United Kingdom and India. The UK section includes mid-20th-century definitives and commemoratives, such as King George VI issues, the 1953 Coronation series, and the Castles high-value definitives. The Indian portion spans from the Victorian era through the mid-20th century, including portraits of Queen Victoria, King Edward VII, King George V, and King George VI. It also includes post-independence issues featuring the Ashoka Pillar and various architectural landmarks. Denominations are present in pies, annas, and rupees, with several examples bearing “SERVICE” overprints. The stamps are mounted on quadrille-ruled, cream-coloured album pages which feature handwritten numerical notations.
