Description
An Edwardian-era postcard album featuring a green cloth-bound cover. The front board is decorated with printed Art Nouveau-style scrolling foliate motifs and the title POST CARD ALBUM in stylised blue lettering. The internal pages are constructed from dark grey card with pre-cut corner slits designed to house postcards. The collection comprises an assortment of early 20th-century cards, including chromolithographic and embossed floral greeting cards with inscriptions such as Birthday Greetings and Many Happy Returns. Also included are narrative and sentimental series depicting children, with one titled A FUTURE R.A., and a romantic storyline series with captions including I cannot be.., Will you be mine?, and Have no fear. The album contains a mix of photographic, artistic, and topographical postcards typical of the 1905-1915 period.
