Late 19th or Early 20th Century Rococo Revival Gilt Framed Wall Mirror
Description
A tall, narrow wall mirror of arched-top form, designed in the Rococo Revival style. The ornate frame is finished in gilt and features an elaborate crest at the top composed of scrolling acanthus leaves and shell-like motifs. The sides are decorated with a repeating foliate pattern, with further scrolling decorative elements at the base. The mirror plate follows the arched form of the frame. The construction appears to be composition or plaster over wood, typical of the period. No maker’s marks or labels are visible.
