Description
A mixed collection of Japanese porcelain tea and coffee wares featuring various iridescent lustre glazes and hand-painted decoration. The service comprises a teapot with a green and cream ground and gilt accents, a tall coffee or hot water pot with a peach lustre finish, a twin-handled lidded sugar bowl, and a cream jug. The set also includes several teacups with fully gilded interiors and various lustre-coloured exteriors, alongside two styles of saucers: one set featuring green and gilt floral borders, and another depicting traditional hand-painted Japanese landscapes with cranes and foliage. The pieces are decorated with a combination of hand-painted and transfer-printed motifs, finished with extensive hand-applied gilt scrollwork.
