A Collection of Glazed Ceramic Animal and Monk Figurines Attributed to Wade
Description
A collection of miniature figurines, primarily consisting of small glazed ceramic items alongside one larger textured piece. The assortment features several monk or friar figures in brown-toned glazes, shown in various poses such as praying and sitting. The animal subjects include a seal or walrus in a green glaze, a hedgehog, and several dogs and cats in assorted glazes. These smaller pieces are characteristic of the Wade Whimsies series produced in England, many of which were distributed as promotional items. Included in the group is a larger, seated cat figurine with a matte, textured yellow surface. One figurine in the centre of the tray bears a small white adhesive label with the handwritten number 9776.
