Two Pieces of Dark-Stained Wooden Furniture Comprising a Tiered ashtray Stand and Magazine Rack
Description
This lot comprises two pieces of dark-stained wooden furniture. The first item is a tiered ashtray stand featuring two circular platforms of different sizes, supported by a central turned column and terminating in a weighted, stepped circular base. The stand is currently presented with an artificial floral arrangement. The second item is a magazine rack constructed with three internal compartments separated by decoratively shaped dividers and featuring an integrated central carrying handle. Both pieces are finished in a dark stain, possibly over walnut or beech, consistent with mid-twentieth century domestic furniture. The magazine rack is similar in form to designs attributed to Butler. No manufacturer marks, stamps, or labels are visible on either piece.
