Vintage 19th-Century Style Decorative Steam Locomotive Lighter on Wooden Base
Description
A decorative model of a 19th-century style steam locomotive, attributed to the United Metal Goods Mfg. Co. This piece is constructed from metal, featuring a black-painted cab and rear chassis with contrasting brass-toned die-cast components including the boiler, cylinders, steam domes, and spoked wheels. The locomotive is mounted on a rectangular wooden plinth base which incorporates a short section of model railway track with a single rail. A raised decorative plaque on the side of the cab contains the numerals 1864. A small white stock label with the handwritten characters 9731 0 is present on the side of the wooden base. This is a static display model intended for decorative purposes and does not contain a clock or mechanical movement.
