Lot 232:
A Collection of Cathedral Crystal and Assorted Cut Glass Tableware
Description
An extensive collection of cut glass and lead crystal tableware, primarily of 20th-century British manufacture. One group of items bears a foil label for Cathedral Crystal. The collection includes multiple large tumblers with diamond-cut bands and vertical fan motifs, various wine glasses with faceted stems and cross-hatch bowls, and three large decanters with heavy faceted stoppers, one featuring a metal spirit label on a chain. Additional glassware includes brandy balloons, small pedestal bowls, a sauce boat with a scalloped rim, a large water pitcher with a thumb-rest handle, and several smaller creamers. The lot also contains two glass trays, one holding a set of small footed glasses and a yellow-coloured pressed glass bird figurine, and an oval tray with a matched creamer and sugar bowl. Most pieces exhibit classic cut glass patterns including deep diamond cutting, starburst bases, and mitre cuts.
