An Imperial German Prussian Model 1895 Line Infantry Pickelhaube
Description
An Imperial German Prussian Model 1895 (M95) Line Infantry Pickelhaube. The helmet is constructed with a black lacquered leather body and features brass fittings throughout. The front of the helmet is adorned with a brass Prussian heraldic eagle plate (Wappen) featuring the F R cipher on the eagle’s breast. A scroll across the wings carries the inscription MIT GOTT FÜR KOENIG UND VATERLAND. The helmet is topped with a brass spike on a circular base. It retains its brass visor trim and a black leather chin strap with brass buckles. A single national (Reichs) cockade in red, white, and black is attached to the right-hand side. A modern white adhesive lot tag numbered 8814 is present on the leather body.
