Lot 99:
A Collection of Silver Lustreware Teaware and Jugs, including Sadler
Description
A collection of ceramic lustreware comprising a lidded teapot and several creamers and jugs. The items feature diverse decorative techniques including a cobalt blue jug with hand-painted polychrome floral motifs and silver lustre highlights, and a cream-coloured teapot with black transfer-printed foliage. Multiple pieces show Art Deco influences with stepped bases and geometric silver lustre banding. These metallic glazes are indicative of mid-20th century British manufacture, notably makers such as Sadler. A small white label marked 501 is present on the teapot lid. No factory marks are visible on the exterior surfaces.
Measurements: 26 cm (total length of tape measure shown).
