After Lady Butler (British, 1846–1933), 'Scotland For Ever!'
Description
A framed colour print on paper after the 1881 oil painting by Elizabeth Southerden Thompson, Lady Butler, titled Scotland For Ever!. The subject matter depicts the charge of the Royal Scots Greys at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. The print is presented within a cream-coloured mount that features the printed inscription SCOTLAND FOR EVER! by Lady Butler. The work is glazed and housed in a dark-stained wooden frame decorated with a carved rope-twist or cable pattern and a gilded inner fillet. A small white adhesive sticker with the handwritten digits 9703 is affixed to the lower section of the mount.
