An Assortment of Antique Palais Royal Style Mother-of-Pearl Desk Accessories and Mixed Vintage Stationery Items
Description
An assortment of antique and vintage desk accessories, stationery items, and curiosities. The collection includes mother-of-pearl inlaid pieces in the Palais Royal style, notably a rectangular frame with geometric diamond-patterned inlay and an associated inlaid surface or stand, both exhibiting a characteristic iridescent lustre. Contained within the frame is a pair of decorative metal scissors with foliate-patterned handles and a tortoiseshell-effect celluloid insert with a circular aperture. The lot features a Stuart Houghton personal seal set in its original red and cream card box, containing a wooden-handled brass seal and sticks of red sealing wax. A vintage cream-coloured writing instrument or tool, likely constructed from celluloid, features a finial carved in the form of a dog and a screw-cap barrel marked with the number 180.
