An Assortment of Antique and Vintage Costume Jewellery Brooches and Pendants
Description
A varied collection of costume jewellery comprising approximately twenty-five items, predominantly brooches and pendants, presented on a display tray. The collection includes a significant selection of portrait miniature brooches and pendants in oval and circular forms, depicting women in various styles of historical dress. These are executed using hand-painted and transfer-printed techniques on ceramic, enamel, and synthetic grounds. Notable within this group is a white metal pendant featuring a depiction of the Mona Lisa, suspended on a fine link chain.
The assortment further contains novelty and shaped pieces, including an Eastern-style scimitar brooch decorated with blue and white enamel and inset with small stones, a heart-shaped micro-mosaic brooch with floral motifs on a turquoise ground, and a shield-shaped pendant fashioned from iridescent mother-of-pearl. Decorative floral items include a large oval brooch with an inlaid floral motif on a black ground, a circular micro-mosaic brooch, and several damascene-style circular pieces with black and gold-tone geometric patterns.
